Sunday, August 7: What's happening around Carson City

This is no sleepy Sunday. Genoa will be a fun place to explore with their monthly Sweet Sippin Sunday stroll and Art in the Park. Jazz and Beyond Music Festival continues with four bands out at the Silver Saddle Ranch in conjunction with a celebration of 20 years of the Quality of Life Initiative. • Breakfast and Bowl at Carson Lanes (9am-12pm; breakfast and unlimited bowling until noon $13, $8 kids 12 and younger)
• V&T #25 Steam Train Rides at the Nevada State Train Museum (10am-4pm; $8, $4 kids; museum admission $6, under 18 free)

• Bingo fundraiser for CASI at Carson City Senior Center (doors 11am, 12:30pm-4pm; $10 buy in, must be 21+)
• Family Day at Empire Ranch Golf Course (After 12pm, Kids play free with paid adult green fee)
• Family Golf Clinic at Eagle Valley Golf Course (1pm-2:30pm; free; free hot dog/soda for participants)
• Barony of Fal Dare, Amtgard Live Action Role Play Plus Combat Group at Mills Park, at the end of Oxoby Loop (12pm-4pm; Foam sword fighting, crafts, classes; child-friendly, under 18 must have a waiver signed by their parents; newcomers welcome, for info email FalDareMonarchy@gmail.com )
• DAWG Days: Bring your dog Painting Class at Mona Lisa and Wine: 3821 S Carson St (1pm-4pm; $35 Includes canvas, easel, brushes, paints, apron, instruction and a house wine/cocktail or soda)

This day has gone to the dogs. Mona Lisa and Wine has a special bring your pooch painting class that benefits Douglas Animal Welfare Group. The Pets of the Homeless ‘Give a Dog a Bone’ week food drive kicks off today with donation drop-offs all around the valley. The Carson Animal Shelter Initiative (CASI) is hosting Bingo at the Senior Citizens Center.

• All Ages Family Day: Painting Class at Van Gogh and Vino (1pm-3:30pm; August Special: $18 per painter)
• Sunday Funday: Free game of pool with drink purchase at Westside Pour House
• Weekly Pool Tournament at Whiskey Tavern (register 1pm; 2pm start; $10 per person)
