The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection announced plans to convene a virtual listening session on Clean Cars Nevada, an initiative that would provide Nevadans with more choices for low and zero emission passenger cars and light-duty trucks offered at dealerships across the state beginning in 2024.

Carson City Fire Department welcomes Ladder 50 to Station 52

Carson City Fire Department put into service Ladder 50 at 0900 this morning with the traditional push-in ceremony at Station 52. Ladder 50 is a tiller driven truck with an aerial ladder that extends to 107 feet. For over 10 years the department struggled with multistory structure fires without the use of a ladder truck, a very critical element of response, a need that until today would only be fulfilled with mutual aid assistance from neighboring counties.

Insurance agent with traffic warrants tells CCSO deputy he was speeding to get to restaurant before it closed

A 25-year-old Reno man was arrested Sunday night in the area of Fairview and Roop streets for three failure to appear warrants out of Carson City, a contempt of court warrant out of Reno Township, and for suspicion of reckless driving, speeding more than 35 mph over the limit and driving with a suspended license.

Carson City Board of Supervisors vote to institute 5 cent diesel fuel tax through city ordinance

The Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 on Thursday to accept a new diesel tax in Carson City, with Supervisor Lori Bagwell voting against.

According to the agenda, Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 373.062 to enact by ordinance a zero to five cent per gallon tax on the sale of diesel fuel within Carson City.

UPDATE 7:45 a.m. Three dogs inside the residence were rescued by Carson City Fire Department firefighters who entered the home, said Battalion Chief Jason Danen. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
