Jazz & Beyond, Carson City Music and Art Festival begins Friday
Carson City’s 19th annual Jazz & Beyond Music & Art Festival, presented by the Mile High Jazz Band Association, offers 17 days of free entertainment and more than 30 performances. The event has been moved to the Brewery Arts Center due to Rain
Cruises, classic cars and more: Hot August Nights revs up this week in Reno and Sparks
Tuesday marks the first of six days of hot days and cool nights with cruises, Show-n-Shines, drag race, entertainment and lots more taking place throughout Reno and Sparks.
Free Carson City community clothing exchange happening this Friday and Saturday
The Carson City Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is hosting its 15th annual Community Clothing Exchange on Friday and Saturday, August 5-6, 2022. The exchange is open to the public and located at the church at 411 N. Saliman Road in Carson City, just south of Carson High School.

HopeFest, Carson Tahoe Health’s pinnacle cancer patient fundraiser, returns as cornhole tournament
In partnership with Sierra Nevada Realtors, the 12th annual HopeFest returns, in-person, as Cornhole’s Best for HopeFest, a rockin’ cornhole tournament. The tournament will raise funds to support community members facing cancer by providing assistance with rent and mortgage payments, gas vouchers, groceries and more.
Ladies Night Out at Carson City's MidTown Marketplace
Grab your girlfriends and head out to MidTown Marketplace for our next Ladies Night Out event. A fun evening for the Ladies of our community, we will have give-a-ways, raffles, eats & drinks, and of course shopping! Ladies Night Out will be held on Friday August 5th from 5pm-7pm. MidTown Marketplace is located at 104 Corbett Street in Carson City.
Peter Pan aerial circus show takes flight Friday at Carson City Community Center
An aerial circus show inspired by Peter Pan's story, will be featured Friday, August 5 at the Carson City Community Center. Through aerial acts, you will meet different characters, such as Peter Pan and his Shadow, Wendy, Tinkerbell and more. Magical pieces of music will carry you to Neverland.

Interpretive Geology Hike at Carson Pass on Hwy 88
Friday August 5 at 10:30AM, Carson Pass Area Geology Hike. Take a morning walk through the amazing geological formations around the Carson Pass area with EL Dorado National Forest Interpretive Association’s guide Carl Gwyn. The 1.5 mile hike is on a moderate to easy trail, and will take about 2 hours. Call 209 258-8606 in advance to reserve a spot for this hike and meet at the Carson Pass information Station on California Hwy 88.

UNR offers crop drought tolerant research tours of CBD, fiber, grain hemp and winter squash
Agriculture producers and others are invited to tour field plots in northern Nevada where the University of Nevada, Reno and its partners are researching drought-tolerant and high-demand crops. Three free field tours will be hosted, two in Fallon on Aug. 5 and 9, and one in Reno on Aug. 12.

Devil’s Ladder History Hike at Carson Pass: This is a walk down to the where the old highway crosses the Emigrant Trail at Devil’s Ladder. From there we will follow the wagon track to register rocks where the immigrants from the east wrote their names with grease from their wagon wheels.

Weekly open air vintage market hits downtown Carson City throughout the summer
The market will take place every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from June through September and is free to the public. Shoppers will be able find antiques, arts and crafts, collectibles, furniture, general swap merchandise, and more.

Businesses will host a pet food drive at their business location and volunteers host pet food drives in their neighborhood August 7-13 as part of the national Give a Dog a Bone Week.
