Carson City sheriff's deputies make arrests over holiday, weekend for DUI, drugs

A 43-year-old man was arrested July 4 for suspicion of DUI, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
According to the booking report, a Carson City sheriff's deputy made a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Highway 50 East. The driver made an improper turn that nearly caused a collision with a pickup attempting to turn.
Deputies could smell an odor of alcohol coming from the driver and observed red, watery eyes. The driver agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He was arrested at 8:06 p.m. He agreed to evidentiary blood tests. Bail: $1,137.
— A 19-year-old Carmichael, Calif., man was arrested July 4 6:21 p.m. in the area of South Carson and East 5th Street for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, the driver was stopped by a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy after going 40 mph in a 25 mph zone on South Carson Street.
The deputy observed the driver had red watery eyes, slurred speech and had an odor of alcohol coming from his person. The driver stated he had stopped drinking 5 to 6 hours prior, agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Bail: $1,137.
— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested July 5 for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant issued out of Sparks Township Court. Bail: $1,500.
— A 32-year-old Dayton man was arrested July 3, 8:10 a.m. for suspicion of gross misdemeanor indecent exposure and misdemeanor resisting a public officer.
According to the booking report, deputies were called to the area of North Carson Street for a man having a mental health episode. The man was found walking wearing only underway and making nonsensical statements.
The man did not respond to questions, however he did expose himself to the officer. When the officer attempted to cuff the man, he did not respond to commands and attempted to pull his hands from the officer's grip. The deputy was able to gain compliance and the man was placed under arrest. Bail: $2,000.
— A 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested July 4, 8:35 p.m. for suspicion of DUI drugs and reckless driving. According to the booking report, deputies responded to Centennial Park Drive for a report of a non-injury crash in which one of the driver's appeared intoxicated.
Deputies arrived on scene and met with the parties involved and confirmed there were no injuries. One of the drivers made himself known and identified himself. A deputy observed the man had slurred speech and was about to light a cigarette, the report states.
The officer observed the man had red, watery eyes. As he spoke, the officer could not smell the odor of alcoholic beverages. The deputy asked what he had been drinking. The man said nothing and further advised that the deputy could test him if he wanted, the report states.
The officer observed the man had an unbalanced stance. The officer conducted the standardized field sobriety tests. During the standard medical questions, the man advised he smoked marijuana earlier at around noon. He was asked multiple times if he had any injuries that would affect his ability to walk, stand or balance, the report states. The man continually stated no.
He was wearing shoes that he advised did not affect his ability to walk, stand or balance. During the tests, the man showed multiple signs of impairment. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI drugs. He consented to an evidentiary blood test. Bail: $1,137.
— A 23-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Friday for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued in April 2024. Bail: $1,137.
— A 40-year-old Carson City woman, Jhana Metta Williams, was arrested Saturday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 35-year-old woman, Melissa Brock, was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony possession of drugs for sale, possession of cocaine and and psilocybin mushrooms, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $5,000.
— A 43-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of petit larceny and breach of peace. Bail: $1,137.
— A 36-year-old Sparks man was arrested Sunday for misdemeanor driving with a revoked license. Bail: $637.
