Carson Tahoe Health invites community to attend free cancer survivors event Sunday
In recognition of National Cancer Survivors Day, Sunday, June 5, 2016, Carson Tahoe Health invites the community to attend “Survivors Expressions,” a free event in honor of people who have been touched by cancer.
During the event, participants will receive a free commemorative t-shirt (while supplies last). Come and enjoy a serene walk around the medical campus, helpful resources on preventing and treating cancer, and inspiring art displays representing the unique process of healing through the cancer journey.
CTH encourages the community to stop by, view the beautiful collection of art, and show their support of cancer survivors, patients, and family members. The artwork not only features creative expressions made by local patients and survivors, but also those from across the nation, courtesy of the Lilly Oncology on Canvas organization.
Additionally, Lilly Oncology is generously donating free breakfast for those who attend the event.
“Carson Tahoe Health is grateful for the strong partnership we’ve developed with Lilly Oncology on Canvas, and thankful for all they have done in support of our community,” said Annie Millard, Cancer Services Director at Carson Tahoe Health. “We encourage people throughout the region to come together during Survivors Expressions as we celebrate hope, healing, and life.”
The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center, 1535 Medical Parkway in North Carson City. For more information, please call (775) 445-7500 or visit www.CarsonTahoe.com/cancer-services.
