Sixth Annual Carson City Smackdown June 1-2
The annual Carson City Smackdown Rodeo returns to the Nevada state capital this Friday and Saturday, June 1-2 at the Fuji Park Fairgrounds and Rodeo Arena.
Now in its sixth year, the Carson City Smackdown boasts the excitement of bull and bronc riding, barrel racing and mutton busting. This year's event is presented, in part, by Capital Ford, S&W Tractor, 51/Fifty, the Plaza Hotel and Carson City Culture and Tourism Authority.
Gates open to the arena, located at 601 Old Clear Creek Road next door to Bodine's Casino, at 5:30 p.m. Mutton busting gets the evening started at 6:30 p.m., followed by the main event at 7 p.m.
An after party will be held following each evening's rodeo at the Westside Pour House, 110 W. Telegraph Street in downtown Carson City.
Advance tickets are $12 per night, or $20 for both evening events. Tickets can also be purchased at the gates for $15. Children seven and under are free.
