Carson City Sheriff’s Office personnel and local residents met Wednesday for the inaugural “Coffee With a Cop," a low-key event at Dunkin’ Donuts where community members could chat with law enforcement officers over coffee.

A tribute to Nevada’s arts and entertainment will kick off this year’s Nevada Day festivities celebrating the same theme. Capital Collage 2017, featuring a variety of arts and artists from across the state, will be 7-11 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada, 1870 Russell Way.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in attempting to identify a person involved in an incident of possible child luring. On Monday at approximately 11:30 a.m. a young female was walking in the area of Koontz and Hillview in south Carson City. While walking in the area, the young female was approached by an unknown male in a copper colored Ford Ranger pickup.

Carson City’s downtown will be glittering with silver this weekend as Airstream trailers park along Carson Street for an international rally.

Due to the positive response from local residents and visitors to the Carson City area, local history buff Debbie Lane will be leading another tour highlighting the homes of former Nevada governors on Tuesday, Oct. 10. The 9 a.m. tours are offered as part of the activities sponsored by the Friends of the Nevada State Museum.

Capital Ford and Carson High School are again partnering up this Saturday to host the Drive 4UR School at the CHS parking lot.
