Battle Born Social cuts ribbon on new downtown Carson City restaurant
Members of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce and other special guests were treated to a preview of Battle Born Social Monday night in a ribbon cutting ceremony that formally opened the restaurant at 318 N. Carson Street in downtown Carson City.
Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell helped Chef David Stern and his parents cut the ribbon on the establishment, a three-dimensional venue featuring Northern Nevada-inspired small plate cuisine served family style.
An open bar refreshed Monday's guests while several plates of appetizers circulated among the crowd of dozens, glimpsing the sort of fare that the lunch and dinner menus will feature.
Battle Born Social opens its doors to the public Wednesday at 11 a.m.
"Let's all come here Wednesday and pack this place at lunch," Mayor Crowell told the crowd gathered outside of Battle Born Social for the ribbon cutting ceremony Monday evening.
Besides the main dining room that includes a full bar, the premises also features a sports lounge and a tasting room for local wines, brews and spirits.
The concept behind the restaurant's design, Chef David Stern said, is to encourage and promote socialization among people by providing a variety of atmospheres in which to relax and enjoy the company of others.
Stern told the crowd he and his family are grateful for the support from the people of Carson City.
"The support from the community has been huge," he said. "We are here for the community and we look forward to serving you."
