Man taken to hospital after truck slams into Carson City vet clinic; no animals injured
The driver of a pickup may have suffered a medical condition that caused him to crash into a Carson City veterinarian clinic Thursday afternoon on North Carson Street.
Carson City Fire Department and Sheriff's Office personnel responded to the accident at Silver Hills Pet Hospital where a witness said the driver, described as being in his 30s, drove the truck with a camper directly into the front end of the animal hospital located in the 3300 block of North Carson Street. The condition of the driver was unknown Thursday evening. No animals or people inside the clinic were injured.
Vet technician Adrienne Caton said she was standing outside and saw the pickup with camper drive at a full rate speed without appearing to brake. After he drove into the building, Caton said she asked Veterinarian Linda Miner, who was on the phone, to call 911.
She said the man appeared to be in a semi-conscious state when medical personnel arrived. Emergency crews at the scene noted to police dispatch that the man behind the wheel may have had a medical condition that caused the crash.
