Carson City arrests: Jail bookings for domestic battery, DUI and felony warrant
A 22-year-old woman was arrested early Monday morning for a felony fugitive from justice warrant, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Devonie Leanne Downs, listed as a transient, was arrested at 12:38 a.m. in the 400 block of West Winnie Lane. According to the arrest report, sheriff’s deputies were called to an apartment complex regarding a domestic battery report. Deputies met with a woman on scene who provided her name, date of birth and social security number. The name came back with the warrant out of Custer County, Okla.
The four-count extraditable warrant alleges she knowingly concealed stolen property, a felony, and misdemeanor possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. Bail: $250,000.
In other arrests:
— An 18-year-old Carson City man, Don Earl Robertson III, was arrested Saturday, 9:55 p.m. for a felony warrant, alleging violation of juvenile parole, issued Sept. 22, 2017 out of Carson City District Court. He’s being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 30-year-old Stagecoach woman was arrested Sunday, 1:13 a.m. in the 2200 block of North Carson Street for a misdemeanor criminal contempt warrant issued out of Washoe County.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to a restaurant in reference to a possible fight in the lobby. Deputies spoke with two individuals, including the 30-year-old woman and learned of the confirmed warrant. Bail: $1,480.
— A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 4:53 p.m. in the area of Glenbrook Circle for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery.
According to the arrest report, the woman allegedly punched her husband in the jaw. A deputy observed the victim had a red, swollen area on the right side of his lower jaw. The arresting deputy asked the woman what happened. She told him she was angry at her husband for calling her “trash” and punched him in the jaw. Bail: $3,137.
— A 61-year-old transient was arrested Saturday, 6:41 p.m. for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was called to the 400 block of Jeanell Drive in reference to a vehicle crash. The arriving deputy observed the man in a black Nissan, slumped over, eyes closed, with his head resting on the left side of the steering wheel and not wearing a seat belt.
The officer called for the man several times to wake up. The man opened his eyes and looked at the officer. He explained that he “miscalculated the turn and hit the parked car,” according to the arrest report. The man had hit a white Nissan, striking the rear left side.
The man showed signs he had been drinking. The officer asked if he had and the man responded that he had a 24-ounce high gravity beer an hour prior, according to the arrest report. He was asked if he needed medical attention. The man replied no. He was asked if he would participate in field sobriety tests and the man agreed.
He showed signs of impairment on the tests he took. He provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .165. He was arrested and at jail voluntarily consented to a blood draw. Bail: $1,137.
