Carson City weather: Cold overnight, warming Friday, Saturday with storm moving in late Sunday
As Thursday evening sets in, with its mix of rain and snow, cloud cover will diminish allowing frigid temperatures to infiltrate throughout the Carson City region, according to the National Weather Service.
Low temperatures are forecasted to be well below freezing with some areas dipping into the lower teens. These cold temperatures, for this time of year, can cause a hard freeze damaging any exposed and unprotected plants and fruit trees. Make sure to cover your plants properly or bring them indoors if possible.
The weather service anticipates low temperatures for Carson City, Dayton and Silver Springs of 27 and 26 for Carson Valley.
Warmer and drier conditions will prevail for Friday and Saturday before we get the next round of storms moving into
the region late Sunday. Temperatures will warm into the mid 60s for the lower valleys and into the 50s for the Sierra valleys on Friday and Saturday.
Forecast confidence is moderate and increasing that a storm will impact the region Sunday night with another storm possible Monday night into Tuesday.
