De-stress Tuesday and Wednesday with Yoga and the WNC Baseball Team
Feeling stressed? Want to get fit? Try doing what the Western Nevada College Baseball Team does — practice yoga.
In a relaxing and creative opportunity to support Wildcats Baseball, Carson City’s Hot Spot Studio Yoga instructor Theresa Simmons is inviting the public to practice yoga with the Wildcats, to raise funds for team yoga mats.
There is no charge for the Yoga instruction, and in return, participants are asked to donate the price of a yoga mat to the Wildcats baseball program, through the WNC Foundation.
Take part on either Tuesday, March 31, 9:45 am, at the Hot Spot Yoga Studio, or on Wednesday, April 1, at noon outside on John L. Harvey Baseball Field on the WNC Carson City campus.
Attendees will practice gentle Yin Yoga aside the highly successful baseball team. The workout will include gentle stretching, focus on breathing for calming, and some guided meditation to assist in clearing busy thoughts.
“They find they are more focused, calmer, and centered, in addition to the added benefits of being more flexible and faster to react in most situations," Simmons said.
Please dress appropriately. Hot Spot Yoga is located at 195 East Winnie Lane, inside Fitness Defined. For information, contact Theresa Simmons at 775.720.4284.
