Tickets available for Wednesday's RSVP benefit 'Comic Relief' with Kat Simmons

Tickets are still available for an evening of "Comic Relief" with local comedienne, Kat Simmons at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King Street, Carson City.

The event hosted by and is a fundraiser for RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program). Tickets are $30 each and are available at the RSVP office, the Artisan store at the Brewery Arts Center and online at BreweryArts.org.

Each ticket includes complimentary appetizers from Foodies Bystro beginning at 5:30 pm. A no-host beverage bar will be available.

"I am happy to be helping an organization that does so much great work, that I might very well need some day too," said Simmons. "There are so many great programs and volunteers and they make such a difference in our community. I have not been to the BAC for about 8 years, so it will be a great return for me."

Proceeds from the event further RSVP’s mission to help seniors with volunteer-based programs such as escorted transportation, companions for the homebound, respite visits for in-home caregivers, free coupons to local farmers markets for low-income seniors and much more.

This event is sponsored by Café at Adele’s in order to help provide our local seniors and persons with disabilities with free services needed to keep them living independently” said Haas.

Kat Simmons has been applauded for her “Clean, Conscious, Connected Comedy” and while on the international comedy circuit, she has appeared with Tim Allen, Kevin Nealon, Zig Ziglar and many others in her 27-year career as a comedienne and motivational speaker. She appears regularly in the Carson Valley.

RSVP’s mission: To help frail, homebound, and low-income seniors remain independent by providing high quality programs which allow them to stay in their homes with dignity. Additionally, RSVP coordinates a volunteer network of seniors who use their skills and talents to provide support to community agencies and address community needs through service.
