Carson City Fire Department: Man, dog die in Tiger Drive mobile home fire
An adult male occupant of a Tiger Drive mobile home that was destroyed in a fire Thursday afternoon has died, according to the Carson City Fire Department. A dog also died on the scene of the blaze, which is under investigation.
Carson City firefighters were dispatched to a mobile home park on Tiger Drive at 1:10 pm and found a mobile home burning.
Firefighters actively fought the flames and made a forcible entry into the residence. They were able to rescue a man, suffering from severe hypoxia, and transported him to Carson Tahoe Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries; the man’s name has not been released. Firefighters also discovered a dog and attempted life saving measures but were unable to save the animal.
Carson City Fire Chief Robert Schreihans said “we offer our condolences to the victims’ family and friends, crews worked quickly and diligently to save the man and his dog. With high winds it was important to contain the fire and keep it from spreading to neighboring homes, I’m proud of the men and women of the Carson City Fire Department.”
Carson City Fire Investigators and the State Fire Marshal’s office will continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
