Didn't get USAF Band tickets for Carson City show? Grand Sierra Resort concert added
Having sold out for a March 4 show in Carson City, fans of the USAF Concert Band of Washington, D.C. are in luck. The renowned instrumental musician group will perform Friday, March 6 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno beginning at 7:30 p.m. No tickets are needed for this event and the public is invited to just show up.
The Band, along with the Singing Sergeants, will be performing at the Bob Boldrick Theater in Carson City on Wednesday, March 4; however, available tickets were distributed within the first three hours along with 80 standby tickets. The Singing Sergeants will not be performing in Reno.
The Reno venue will allow those who were not able to obtain tickets to enjoy the Band while they are in Northern Nevada attending the American Bandmasters Association National Convention.
More good news for those who love military bands: The USAF Band of the Golden West will return to the community center in Carson City for a Sunday concert on June 28 at 3 p.m. Information on ticket availability will be forthcoming in early June.
The band was first assembled in 1941 and today, performs throughout the United States. Comprised of 53 active duty Airmen musicians and 23 Singing Sergeants, they perform a wide variety of musical styles, from light classics, popular favorites and instrumental features, to classical transcriptions and original works.
