NHP recognizes employees from Carson City and Reno
Nevada Highway Patrol employees from Carson City and Reno were honored Thursday in a ceremony. Each year several employees assigned to the NHP Northern Command West region are selected and recognized for their exemplary professionalism and service to the citizens and visitors of Nevada.
This year's ceremony, held in Reno at the NHP office, was to name 2012 award recipients. Carson City employees recognized are James Simpson, picked as Sergeant of the Year and Chesa Emery, selected as Dispatcher of the Year.
From the Reno office, Trooper of the Year honors went to Christian Laprairie, while Diana Marsteller was chosen as Employee of the Year.
During the annual event, a sergeant, trooper, dispatcher and civilian employee are each presented a certificate of recognition and applauded for their achievements by the senior leadership of the agency, said NHP Trooper Chuck Allen.
Each employee was nominated by his or her respective supervisor or co-worker for their superior job performance, leadership skills and/or professional work ethics performed in 2012.
In addition to the four annual award winners being honored, many other employees were recognized and thanked for their demonstrated professionalism, years of service to Nevada, or volunteer efforts in the community.
