Carson City development manager to take on senior center business management duties
IIn order to help tighten up day-to-day operations at the Carson City Senior Center, Michael Salogga, the City’s business development manager, will be assuming the duties of the Center’s business manager. His focus will be to help put the Senior Center on a more business-like footing and move the Center closer towards a sustainable financial position.
City Manager Nick Marano said: “Carson City voters approved a tax override more than 30 years ago to fund senior services. Together with our non-profit partner, the City, and especially Executive Director Courtney Warner, has made quality senior services a priority. As our senior population continues to grow and demand for services with it, we need to ensure the Center is on a sound financial glide path. As an MBA, Michael is the right person to work with the Director and the Governing Board to ensure that the Center is on a sound fiscal footing now and in the future.”
The City’s business development activities will be assumed in the interim by City Manager Nick Marano and other City staff. Future business counseling will be provided through the Nevada Small Business Development Center’s Reno office at the University of Nevada, Reno.
For further information, please contact Nick Marano, City Manager, at 283-7062 or nmarano@carson.org or Courtney Warner, Senior Center Director at 283-7235 or cwarner@carson.org.
