Carson City man arrested for allegedly harming mother during mental health crisis
A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested for domestic battery just after 5 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to an apartment complex on report that the man had punched a neighbor in the face while walking past the man’s front door.
When deputies arrived on scene, they were told by the neighbor that the man was inside his residence, that he’d been yelling at his mother and that it was “really loud.”
Deputies were unable to find probable cause for the battery that occurred between him and the neighbor; however, when they spoke with the man’s mother, they noted she was crying and bleeding from her left hand.
She told deputies that her son was mentally unstable and continues to get worse every day. She said he was yelling at her while she sat on her bed, and that he grabbed her with both of his hands and his nails broke through her skin.
Deputies spoke with the man about what had happened. He told deputies that he had been yelling about his neighbors to his mom. When deputies looked at his hands, they saw blood on his right ring finger.
Deputies took the man into custody for domestic battery first.
Bail: $3,137
