Obituary: Patricia Anne Josten
Patricia Anne Josten (nee Kelley), 70, peacefully passed away November 8, 2021 at home in Reno, NV surrounded by loved ones. She is the wife of David Frank Josten and they enjoyed 41 years of marriage together.
Born in Sioux Falls, SD, Pat was the eldest child of LeRoy and Ruth Kelley. She always said that she was never sure what she wanted to be when she grew up, so she tried as many paths as possible, including camp counselor, nanny, flight nurse, swim instructor, ER nurse, insurance claims adjuster, and a dreaded bureaucrat.
For the past two-plus decades she has touched countless lives through her work volunteering to produce and promote youth theatre and arts programs in Northern Nevada, including as a founding member of the Wildhorse Children’s Theater Company and recipient of the prestigious Jefferson Award.
Pat was a passionate advocate for the arts at all levels. She also produced community theatre productions for local theatre companies and volunteered in multiple capacities at the Brewery Arts Center.
She is survived by spouse David; sons Brett, Kelley, Nick, and Jon; daughters-in-law Cathy, Becky, and Lilly; grandchildren Mary, Millie, Nancy, and Emerson; along with countless theatre kids she included under her vast umbrella of love and caring.
The memorial service is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City, NV with more definite details to come.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Wildhorse Children’s Theater at https://www.wildhorsetheater.com/donate
