Community Roots Christmas tree sales benefit community
DAYTON, Nev. — Community Roots garden center has a large selection of fresh cut Christmas trees that will fill your home with that classic fir fragrance and remind you of happy holiday memories.
Choose from the Noble fir, which has a slight bluish cast; the Douglas fir, with its soft, lighter green needles; the Grand fir, with its strong fragrance and thick foliage; or the Nordmann fir, with its traditional Christmas tree shape and slightly sweet evergreen scent.
Shoppers will also find 22 inch mixed wreaths, and 10 foot rolls of fresh Cedar garland that can be used to create custom holiday decorations.
After picking up your Christmas tree and holiday wreath at the garden center, stop by Community Roots’ gift shop as well. It’s stocked with all sorts of unique items to fill your gift-giving needs. The shop is packed with holiday ornaments, cards and stocking stuffers, plus houseplants, cacti, handcrafted snowmen, reindeer, angels, Santas, nativity scenes, and more.
Shopping at Community Roots helps others:
Community Roots is part of the nonprofit Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties.
Proceeds from the tree sales benefit Healthy Communities’ food pantries, youth programs, and many other important community needs. For example, the tree sales support food pantry client needs such as socks, shoes, warm coats for children, toiletries, plus sleeping bags and other items for unhoused families.
The tree sales also add support to Healthy Communities’ youth programs such as Comstock Youth Works’ job training and paid summer internships.
In addition, the tree sale profits help Healthy Communities provide energy assistance, space heaters and propane for seniors during the winter.
