Friends To All volunteers seek names for Santa visits to Carson City area seniors

Event Date:
Repeats every day until Sat Dec 13 2014 .
December 13, 2014 (All day)

“Tis the Season” again already! For the 16th Year Friends To All volunteers will dress up in Santa Suits and Helper costumes to bring joy and cheer to senior citizens throughout Carson City.

On Saturday, Dec. 13 these festive groups will log between 150 and 200 stops as they make their rounds visiting and delivering gifts. This year we give special appreciation and honor to the man who inspired our program, Raymond Smith, who passed away in September. Ray’s enthusiasm in bringing the joy of a visit from Santa Claus to so many in our community will live on in our hearts forever.

Friends to All is seeking names and addresses of seniors who would enjoy a Santa visit this year. If you know of a neighbor or family member that would appreciate a visit during the holidays, please let us know. The holidays are often very lonely times for seniors with little family or friends nearby. The mission of our visit is to bring some joy to those who are alone far too much.

This event is made possible through the generous donations from businesses and members of the community. Donations of cash, crossword puzzle books (large print, if possible), slipper socks, gloves, hats, scarves, handkerchiefs, lotions, lip balm, calendars, packaged small food items such as candy, cookies, or nuts, gift cards from grocery or gift stores, hair salons, barbershops, or restaurants that deliver — basically anything that a senior may be able to use are appreciated.

Cash donations are used to purchase gift cards for grocery stores to be given to seniors in need. Donations are 501(c) 3 tax deductible and check donations should be made payable to RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program)
with a notation of “Friends To All." A receipt will be provided.

Donations may be mailed or dropped off at the A+ Paralegals, Inc. office located at 411 W. Third Street, Suite 1, Carson City, NV 89703; (775) 315-2484 or (775) 301-6747 Monday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or call if you would like a volunteer to pick up your donation.
