Peace poster contest entries on display at Nevada Artists’ Association Gallery in Carson City
Local entries for the Lions International Peace Poster Contest are now on display at the Nevada Artists’ Association Gallery, 449 King Street, Carson City. The Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Peace Poster entries will be on display at the Gallery until November 15th.
The Peace Poster Contest is an international contest that encourages youth, ages 11 to 13, to creatively express what peace means to them and share their unique visions with the world. Posters will be judged on three criteria: originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme, “Lead with Compassion.”
The Carson City Host Lions will present the local contest winner a $50 stipend, and the winner will move up to the Lions’ District level for further competition. The International Grand Prize Winner receives a trip to an award ceremony where he/she will receive $5,000 and an award. Twenty-three merit award winners will also be selected and each will receive $500.
The Carson City Host Lions Club meets at noon on Tuesdays at Tito’s on Williams Street. For more information about the Carson City Host Lions, visit www.carsoncitylions.com or our Facebook page @CarsonCityLions.
