The Carson City Host Lions is pleased to announce the 23rd annual community Crab Feed will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Fuji Park Hall.

The Lions, with the help of Celebrity Chef Jonathan Chapin and his team, will serve up Dungeness crab, roasted beef tri-tip, salad, bread, and ice cream. There will be music, dancing, raffle prizes and a silent auction to raise funds for Lions' projects.

Carson High School student wins Lions Club youth speaker competition

Nasia Perkins, a sophomore at Carson High School, won the Carson City Host Lions Club Student Speaker Contest on February 12th held at La Capital Cafe and Grill in Carson City. She was awarded a stipend of $75. Ms. Perkins is a member of the Carson High Speech and Debate Team coached by Patrick Mobley.

The Peace Poster Contest is an international contest that encourages children, ages 11 to 13, to creatively express what peace means to them. The 2023-2024contest theme is “Dare to Dream.”

Lions Club Hosts Kids’ Fishing Day in Carson City on April 22

The Carson City Host Lions Club will be hosting the Annual Kids’ Fishing Day at Baily Pond in Fuji Park on Saturday, April 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free and provides a good opportunity to introduce kids under the age of 12 to fishing and conservation. Volunteers will be available to answer questions and to help kids in need of assistance with fishing.

Carson City Host Lions Club 'Recycle Eyeglasses Campaign' a success, 383 pairs collected

The Carson City Host Lions Club recently conducted a special “Recycle Eyeglasses Campaign” over a six-week period from January 18 to February 25 in the Carson City elementary schools. Collection boxes were distributed to the classrooms to encourage the donation of used prescription eyeglasses.

Three Carson High School seniors win Lions Club Scholarships

The Carson City Host Lions Club is pleased to announce that three students from Carson High School have won the Club’s scholarships. The students are Kobe Morgan, Jonathan Barrera-Martinez, and Michael Service. Each student will receive up to $2,000 to help with expenses at a community college, trade or technical school.
