Carson City's Catmandu introduces their Cat of the Week: Max
Yes, it’s Maximillian Cornelius Cat aka Max again. He is still desperately in need of a loving, furever home and the sooner the better.
He really needs to be someone’s one and only, something that just isn’t possible at Catmandu.
Max is starting to get very sad, watching us go home in the evening and seeing other cats going to their new homes.
Between 8 and 9 years old, he is the perfect cat for the right household. He loves to play and will even fetch a paper ball.
He will follow you from one room to another, just to keep you company.
He is also perfectly fine just hanging out and napping while you watch TV, work or whatever. As long as you’re in the same room he is all good. He just doesn’t like to be alone. Max isn’t destructive when left alone, he just gets sad and lonely.
Pets, cuddles and kisses are always gratefully accepted whenever you want to give them; he isn’t pushy and demanding about it. He is also a talker with a very expressive face and meow.
Although he lived with other cats for most of his life, Max would strongly prefer to be your one and only. He gets very jealous of another cat getting attention.
He would do best with a senior or someone who is home the majority of the time. He has never been around dogs or small children.
He spent the first 7 years of his life in a household with 30 other cats.
When his people lost their home and had to move, he came to Catmandu. Max was quickly adopted by a lovely senior lady and her daughter in December 2020, and was very happy until both of his owners passed away.
Unfortunately, no one else in the family was able to take him and so he returned to Catmandu. As with all our cats, Max is neutered and up to date on his shots. He had to have all his teeth removed, but he is happy being a gumster and will still eat some hard food and treats. Otherwise, he is in great physical condition.
Although he is a little on the young side, Max qualifies for the senior to senior foster program which places senior cats with senior citizens age 55+.
The cat lives with you and for all intents and purposes is your cat. The difference is that if something happens and you are no longer able to care for your cat, it can return to Catmandu. And, if the cat develops any health issues, Catmandu provides veterinary care and homeopathy.
Currently, rescues are overflowing with animals.
At Catmandu we have almost 80 cats. If you have room in your heart and home for one of our sweet kitties, please consider adoption. If you would like to help by volunteering or by making a much needed donation, please go to: catmanducc.org. We appreciate your helping us continue to care for Carson City's orphaned, homeless, and abandoned kitties.
To meet Max and his buddies at Catmandu, please stop by Friday - Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1829 Brown Street. Meow.
