RSVP will distribute Farmers Market coupons to Carson City seniors on June 9
Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program, Inc., also known as RSVP, is preparing for their annual distribution of Farmers Market coupons for Carson City low-income seniors. Coupons will be available at no cost for those who qualify on June 9th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center, in the Front Lobby facing William St.
In order to qualify for coupons, you must be a Nevada resident, 60 years of age or older, and must have an income that does not exceed $26,973 annually ($2,248/month) for a household of 1 or $36,482 annually ($3,041/month) for a household of 2. We are able to give one set of coupons per household.
You will need to present a Nevada ID or a Nevada Driver’s License showing a Carson City residence in order to receive coupons and must sign the self-certification form at the distribution site. Non-senior friends or family members may pick up the coupon booklet for a homebound senior but will need to have the senior’s identification and a note authorizing them to receive the coupons.
Eligible seniors will receive $50.00 in coupons redeemable at the local Farmers’ Markets in Carson City or coupons may be used at any other Nevada Farmers Market displaying the appropriate signage. The location for the Farmers Market is 1111 E. William Street, inside the Marv Teixeira Pavilion at Mills Park. The Farmers Market will take place every Saturday starting June 10th through September 30th from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Once the booklets are claimed, they cannot be replaced if lost or damaged. Eligible seniors can use the coupons from June 1st – September 15th. This program is made possible through the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP).
RSVP is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) Corporation that provides seniors with life-saving services such as transportation, home companionship, Personal Emergency Response Systems, and many more.
