On Sunday April 2 at 1 p.m., Sorenson’s Resort (formerly Wylder Resort Hope Valley) continues its history series with a 50-minute presentation, “Into the Jaws of Hell.”

Local historian David Woodruff recounts the dramatic and heroic tale of how forlorn and desperate argonauts found demise in the desert while searching for a shortcut to the California goldfields, and christened the chilling name upon their fatal location, Death Valley.

The Carson-Tahoe Home & Garden Show is coming to the Carson City Community Center May 19-21, 2023. This highly anticipated event is free to attendees and is expected to draw thousands of people from the region.

The annual Underwater Egg Hunt at the Carson City Aquatic Center returns April 8.

Swimmers (or splashers) of all ages are welcome to play, with egg hunts in both the tot pools and the shallow end of the large pool, with multiple sessions throughout the day.

Join Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space in removing the festive holiday lights from Homestead Lights this coming Thursday at Silver Saddle Ranch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. The Spring has Sprung Show is on display until May 5 with 112 entries from Northern Nevada Artists. The Featured Artists also on display are Roxane Gleghorn with inspiring pieces of resin art embellished with gemstones and crystals and Kristy Dial with her award winning gourd creations. All three shows are open to the public from 12-4pm Tuesday through Sunday at the NAA Gallery at 449 W. King Street in Carson City.

We are the Carson City Chapter of Citizens' Climate Lobby. Our chapter includes people from Carson City and the surrounding areas who are concerned about climate issues and want to take action to lessen the impact of climate change.

The Nevada Division of Emergency Management, Homeland Security has formally requested the Federal Emergency Management Agency to conduct a joint federal and state preliminary damage assessment team in the following counties: Churchill County, Douglas County, Eureka County, Lyon County, Lincoln County, Storey County, and the Yomba Shoshone Tribe.

Girls on the Run Sierras is a local social emotional learning program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade. We teach lessons about the importance of friendship, kindness and emotional intelligence, while creatively integrating physical activity.

Camp GOTR is coming to Carson City August 7-11 for girls ages 8-12. This will be a half day from 8am to noon.
