Eastern Sierra history program features 'Into the Jaws of Hell' at Death Valley
On Sunday April 2 at 1 p.m., Sorenson’s Resort (formerly Wylder Resort Hope Valley) continues its history series with a 50-minute presentation, “Into the Jaws of Hell.”
Local historian David Woodruff recounts the dramatic and heroic tale of how forlorn and desperate argonauts found demise in the desert while searching for a shortcut to the California goldfields, and christened the chilling name upon their fatal location, Death Valley.
The free program is open to the public, and will be at the Café at Sorenson’s, located on Hwy. 88 in Hope Valley. Call David at 760 920-8061 for more information, or to confirm if inclement weather.
