We suspect Einstein, our cat of the week, is at least part Maine Coon. He is a big, beautiful, long-haired tabby with a sweet personality. He grew up with a dominant female cat that bullied him, leaving him a bit shy and introverted, and uncertain with new situations and people.

Nevada Day is right around the corner, and we invite everyone to join us in celebrating the 160th anniversary of Nevada's statehood! This year’s festivities promise to be bigger and better than ever as we come together for a full day of exciting events, entertainment, and a parade that honors our rich history and vibrant community spirit.

A number of Carson City residents became concerned after they received what some are calling rather confusing voting instructions in the mail.

The mailer states that individuals should update their signatures in their voter registration to assist in streamlining voting. However, there is no section on the mailer to provide a signature, or any information required to verify the signature is coming from the designated voter.

In what is becoming a grim trend, three additional middle-school aged children have been arrested for making shooting threats, all of which occurred on Wednesday.

One elementary school in Carson City is helping foster trust and strengthen relationships between students and law enforcement. Carson City Historical Society (CCHS) welcomes guest speaker Mike Shaughnessy on Thursday, October 24, 2024, to discuss the history of the Nevada Day Parade. The talk will be at 6:00 p.m. in the Carriage House behind the Foreman-Roberts House Museum. Mike, a native Nevadan, has lived in Carson City since 1937, and was in the first Nevada Day Parade held in Carson City in 1938. Prior to that, the parade was held in Reno.
