UPDATE 4:54 p.m.: Crashes continue to occur on the freeway and ramps are being closed intermittently to deal with them. There have been over a dozen crashes reported throughout town since 2 p.m.

UPDATE 2:12 p.m.: The freeway is completely backed up due to the multiple crashes. A number of units are being dispatched for traffic control. Avoid the area of the freeway until further notice.

2:05 p.m.: Multiple crashes are now being reported in the area of Eastlake with at least ten vehicles involved.

Responders are reporting the roads are “extremely slick.”

Happy New Year from the Carson City Park Rangers! Every month, the Park Rangers offer various Ranger-Led programs that include educational opportunities, historical fun, and exciting adventures.
