On Friday night, South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue evacuated residents from an apartment complex following a partial roof collapse.

Numerous roof and canopy structure collapses have been reported around the Tahoe region following record, heavy snow fall.

Noted downtown Carson City personality and raconteur Thomas (Tomas) Atwood passed away suddenly on February 17, 2023. He was born in Nashville, TN, September 19, 1945, and spent his high school years in Alameda, California in what he described as an idyllic 1950’s novella in the Bay Area.

YERINGTON — Lyon County is encouraging residents to prepare for upcoming storm events expected to impact the region. The National Weather Service forecast is reporting an atmospheric river event beginning Thursday, March 9, 2023 through next week. The wet weather may bring strong winds and flooding to smaller streams, poor drainage areas and areas prone to flooding.
