At 7:30 p.m. a motorcycle crash with injury was reported on the I-580 southbound on ramp at Fairview.

The rider reportedly crashed the bike and was said to have blood coming from his head.

Activists in support of abortion rights gathered Saturday afternoon at the Nevada State Capitol to protest against the nationwide issues surrounding the potential roll back of Roe v. Wade.

In Nevada, abortion is legal for any reason up to 24 weeks and legal after 24 weeks if the pregnancy is determined to potentially be fatal to the mother.

Carson City’s greenUP! program will be the topic at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. greenUP! president Donna Waldon will educate club members on the program’s ‘Green Box to Go” program in Carson City’s Green Dining District. The meeting takes place Tuesday, May 17, at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom. The public is invited to attend.

The Lyon County Utilities Department is issuing a precautionary boil water notice for the Copper Canyon Estates subdivision in Dayton due to a water line break. Boil water for five minutes and cool before using, or use bottled water. The notice will remain in effect until further notice. Please contact the Utilities office at 246-6220 for more information.

A 36-year-old Marysville, Calif. man was arrested inside a South Carson casino after allegedly driving his truck up a foliage barrier at the Chick-fil-A drive through, then running and hiding inside the casino.

On Thursday, May 12th, U.S. Marshals contacted the Carson City Sheriff’s Office to report that a heavily armed escaped inmate was possibly in the Carson City and Douglas County area.

The inmate, 38 year old Andrew Cain Kristovich, had escaped from a Federal Prison Camp in Oregon. Information from the Marshals indicated that the inmate was likely to be armed with a high-powered assault rifle and intent on engaging with law enforcement and fleeing.

At 3:25 p.m. Friday, a vehicle crash was reported at Airport Road near Highway 50 E. and Carmine.

Motorists should avoid the area if at all possible.

Two vehicles were involved and at least one individual was complaining of neck and back pain.

First responders are currently enroute to the scene.
