SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — The USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit invites you to Ski with a Ranger at Heavenly Mountain Resort beginning Friday, Jan. 31, 2020. Tours begin at Tamarack Lodge, at the top of the Heavenly Gondola every Friday at 1 p.m. The tours last approximately one-hour and continue through March 27, 2020, weather permitting.

The Carson City School District is celebrating two new National Board Certified Teachers from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. UPDATE 12:30PM: According to a Carson City Fire Department battalion chief, three people were transported to the hospital. One person was flown by Care Flight and two others were taken by ground ambulance to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno. The eastbound lane of Highway 50 was reopened at 12:30 p.m. The westbound lane remains closed. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
