Man arrested for open murder, woman dies in attack at Virginia City Highlands residence
A man is being held on a charge of open murder after a woman died from injuries sustained in an attack that happened Sunday at a Virginia City Highland's home, according to the Storey County Sheriff's Office.
The Storey County Sheriff's Office responded to a Virginia City Highland's home in response to a domestic violence call. The victim, identified as Janice McElhaney, 54, was transported to an area hospital where she died from injuries sustained in the attack, according to the sheriff's office.
The suspect, identified as William Collier, 47, is in custody at the Storey County Jail being held on the charge of open murder, according to the sheriff's office. According to KRNV, he was located in Incline Village and arrested by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
