A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 8:34 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance.

Mark Tyzbir, 51, was arrested after Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies went to the residence after learning of a domestic dispute there.

Dr. Gabriel's educational background began at Yale University where he graduated Summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and was one of eleven graduating seniors elected as Scholar of the House. He was also a Visiting Scholar at Cambridge University in England.

The Carson High School Bowling team has started out undefeated this year. They beat Sparks High School in their latest matchup and are currently 3-0 to start the season. The other two teams they have beat are Damonte High School and McQueen High School. The Carson High School Bowling team have been in competition now for 12 seasons (This will be season 13) and they have won 11 out of 12 championships.

Virginia City is offering lift tickets of the public transit and tour variety with the launch of the Comstock Lift Ticket that takes visitors on a ride through the high desert historic mining town east of Lake Tahoe.

The ticket gives visitors a 2.5-mile trolley ride, including a 20-minute narrated tour through Virginia City, a tour of the Ponderosa Mine as well as specials on lodging at any number of hotels, motels, restaurants and merchants.

A burglary in Douglas County Wednesday resulted in a traffic stop by Carson City sheriff's deputies in Washoe Valley that led to subsequent arrests.

Kenneth Lamontagne, 25, of Reno faces felony charges of burglary, grand larceny of a firearm and possession of stolen firearms. The suspect's wife, Robin Lamontagne, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Washoe County.

The Associated Press reports a prosecutor made the announcement Thursday when William Dresser made an initial appearance in Carson City Justice Court.

A Carson City Jail inmate faces a felony charge battery of a prisoner in an incident Wednesday. Billy Harris, 67, was removed from a holding cell at around 8:30 a.m. after allegedly punching, spitting and hurling a racial slur at an inmate, according to the arrest report. Bail: $20,000.

In other arrests:
