Night in the County music festival organizers announce additional artists for 2016

Night in the Country will celebrate its 15th year as Nevada's longest-running country music festival with the largest lineup in its history, featuring some of the biggest country artists in the world including headliners Tyler Farr, Chase Rice and Kip Moore. The festival, set for July 21 – 23 at the Lyon County Fairgrounds in Yerington, has also added Phil Vassar and Josh Abbott Band to the 2016 lineup.

January 23, 2016 - 10:00am Youth Theatre Carson City will hold auditions this Saturday for Disney’s "Alice in Wonderland, Jr." The show will run four performances, April 8-10 in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center.
We are looking for actors, singers, and dancers grades K-12, who will be cast to play all the classic characters including Alice, The White Rabbit, The Mad Hatter, The Cheshire Cat, and of course, The evil Queen of Hearts – plus a host of other colorful characters.

The Carson Chamber Singers, conducted by Michael Langham, will begin rehearsals on Tuesday, January 19, at 6:30 p.m., at the Carson High School Choral Room, 1111 N. Judging for the annual PTA Reflections Art Contest held at Carson High School began Thursday and runs through today.
The nationwide event, sponsored by the national Parent Teacher Association, is now in its 47th year and strives to “support student success and serve as a valuable tool for building strong partnerships in your school community,” according to the national PTA web site at www.pta.org.

The Youth Theatre Carson City opened its newest musical production, "The Wiz," at the Carson Community Center last week with another three shows scheduled for this weekend.
The play, a seven-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical based on Dorothy Gale’s adventures in the Land of Oz, runs through Jan. 17 in the Bob Boldrick Theatre. It features a mixture of rock, gospel and soul music numbers.
