New trustee to fill Douglas County School Board vacancy after long debate
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Thu, 01/11/2024 - 11:44amFollowing the resignation of Douglas County School Board Trustee Tony Magnotta due to ongoing contentions with the board, a new trustee was appointed Tuesday evening to fill his vacancy.
The choice to fill the vacancy came down between a Master Electrician and a Douglas County School District Paraprofessional.
Nevada State Police, NDOT advise motorists to avoid travel; another storm this weekend

Governor closes state government offices Thursday in Northern Nevada due to storm

Joe Lombardo has ordered all State executive branch government offices (other than essential public safety and corrections personnel) remain closed on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, in Carson City, Churchill County, Douglas County, Lyon County, Mineral County, Persing County, Storey County, and Washoe County.
Carson City Senior Center closed Thursday, Meals on Wheels not delivering
