Demolition of Carson City's Whistle Stop Inn planned for April to build FISH's transitional, student housing

Next month, Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH, will present the Carson City Planning Commission an update to its Special Use Permit regarding plans to build apartments on the Whistle Stop Inn site.

Prescribed fire operations continue this week at Lake Tahoe

Weather and conditions permitting, the Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team will continue prescribed fire operations this week at Lake Tahoe. Operations will continue throughout much of the fall and winter seasons to help land managers reduce hazardous fuels that can feed unwanted wildfires. Smoke will be present.

Carson City Schools observe 2-hour delayed start Tuesday

As a result of the winter storm disrupting travel throughout the region, all Carson City School District schools will observe a delayed 2-hour schedule Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021. Buses will also operate on a 2-hour delay, so arrival times will be approximately 2-hours later than usual. There will be no Pre-School classes or breakfast served at school.

NV Energy reports power outage on west side of Carson City

A power outage along Carson City's west side in the area of King Street is affecting more than 200 customers on Monday night, according to NV Energy.
