Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Wednesday night to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of North Carson Street and College Parkway.

Carson City School District is pleased to announce Carson High School Senior Edwin Iza, 17, has earned a contract with the Three Ravens Publishing Company for his graphic design work in creating a winning book cover design for “The Raven and the Crow: The Gray Throne,” the second book in a new six-book epic fantasy novel series.

The book written by her and her mother Lula Rose Miller is available for purchase at the store through Christmas.

Holiday with a Hero returned Wednesday to make the Christmas holidays for children in Carson City extra special, thanks to local sheriff's deputies, firefighters, first responders and many more.
Holiday with a Hero continued its annual mission of serving underprivileged youth identified in Carson City through the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, who may not otherwise get to have a festive holiday season.
Carson City arrests: Man booked on charges alleging sex crimes, kidnapping involving child

A 56-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in Henderson by the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team for multiple charges related to alleged sex assault crimes involving a child, including kidnapping and child abuse.
Nevada Gourd Society donates $5,500 to Carson City Meals on Wheels

The annual Silver State Art Festival held in Carson City is a gathering of award-winning artists from all over the Southwest put on by the Nevada Gourd Society. This fall the artists were ready with their artwork and donated items for the large raffle to be held during the festival to raise money for the Carson City Senior Center’s Meals on Wheels program.
Carson City area weather: More snow and slick roads into Thursday morning

A fast-moving storm system will bring more snow to the Sierra and valley floors region Wednesday into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service, prompting a Winter Weather Advisory for the Reno, Carson City and Carson Valley areas and a Winter Storm Warning for Lake Tahoe and Sierra.
