Money for upgrades to south Douglas water system among $5.9M in USDA grants announced for rural Nevada

The investments will help expand access to clean water in people’s homes and businesses in rural communities across the state.

An 18-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of felony burglary and misdemeanor petit larceny, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors appointed two residents to the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) during the Thursday meeting. The board reappointed Charles Macquarie and appointed Gregory Novak for the second vacancy.

Planning Commission approves plan for Carson Valley Meats processing facility for second time

Carson Valley Meats returned before the Carson City Planning Commission Wednesday. The previous approval of the project was vacated due to noticing issues at the city level.
The Planning Commission voted in favor of the project with two conditions added: to not allow odors from the processing of animals to be realized at the property line and no noise levels exceeding 80 decibels at the property line.

Due to forecast flash freezing this morning, the Nevada Department of Transportation and the Department of Public Safety are reporting dangerous road conditions in the Carson City, Washoe County and Douglas County areas.
