Carson High School NJROTC raises more than $5,000 in support of Angel Tree

CARSON CITY — The Carson High School Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program raised more than $5,000 for the local Angel Tree gift program. The number was significantly higher than last year’s total of $3,300. CHS NJROTC has raised money for the charity for the past five years.

Tahoe planning agency updates mobility fee; new projects encourage trip reduction, protects affordable housing

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Governing Board on Wednesday, Dec. 15 approved an update to a regional mitigation fee for new projects. The updated mobility mitigation fee will help offset new, in-basin vehicle trips with investments in traffic-reducing projects, the agency said. The update replaces an air quality mitigation fee that has been in place for decades without annual updates for inflation.
