Frozen turkey donations sought Thursday at annual Carson City High Five Turkey Drive

Donate a turkey and help local families have a Thanksgiving meal. The annual High Five Turkey Drive, hosted by Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH, is happening tomorrow, Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Nissan Carson City.

Multi-agency partnership restores water flows to Little Washoe Lake

Little Washoe Lake water levels are now recovering after the Nevada Department of Wildlife worked with partners to repair a water diversion ditch that feeds the Washoe Lakes system, which includes Big and Little Washoe Lakes, as well as the Scripps Wildlife Management Area that lies between.

UPDATE 4:45PM: The Nevada Highway Patrol confirms a second fatality in Tuesday afternoon's crash involving 8 vehicles at the intersection of I-580, South Carson Street, Highway 50.

UPDATE 2:38PM: NHP says a preliminary investigation shows that a Ford F-350 pickup towing a large boat in the eastbound lane failed to obey a red traffic light which caused the fatal multi-vehicle crash. Eight vehicles were involved in the crash, four people were critically injured and three people were taken by Care Flight. The intersection is closed. Motorists should use an alternate route.

UPDATE: The Nevada Highway Patrol has confirmed at least one fatality in the fiery crash at the intersection of I-580, South Carson Street and Highway 50. As of around 1:30 p.m. a Carson City Fire Department Battalion chief said there were three critically injured, two seriously injured, two with moderate injuries and one with minor injuries. It is unknown at this time if there are more patients.
