Nevada public safety providers remind motorists to move over for emergency responders

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Transportation and Nevada Department of Public Safety, Highway Patrol are reminding motorists to drive attentively, slow down and move over for traffic response vehicles during national Crash Responder Safety Week, held Nov. 8-14.

Veteran's pancake breakfast happening Veteran's Day at Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Inc. (RSVP) is hosting a free pancake breakfast for all veterans on Veteran’s Day, Thursday, November 11, 2021.

This event will take place at the Carson City Elks Lodge on 515 N. Nevada Street, Carson City, from 9 to 11:00 a.m. All local senior veterans are invited to join RSVP for pancakes, sausages, and beverages. Celebrity chefs Charlie Abowd, Carson City Supervisor Stan Jones, and Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong will be serving pancakes.

Rotarians to learn about Carson City School District’s capital projects at Tuesday meeting

NDOT completes first season of multi-year State Route 28/431 Tahoe-area improvements

CARSON CITY — On Nov. 5, the Nevada Department of Transportation and Q&D Construction completed the first season of a multi-year project to enhance the existing roadway and utility system along sections of State Routes 431 and 28 to help preserve pavement and protect Lake Tahoe.

He urges all Americans to join the Elks in service to the veterans in your community.

Let us remember the words of Elk member, President John F. Kennedy, who said, “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.”

Despite the challenges of the last year, the Elks lived by their pledge to never forget our veterans.
