Frozen turkey donations sought Thursday at annual Carson City High Five Turkey Drive
Donate a turkey and help local families have a Thanksgiving meal. The annual High Five Turkey Drive, hosted by Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH, is happening tomorrow, Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Nissan Carson City.
Organizers say they are especially in great need of turkeys this year for the annual holiday food drive. Turkeys, plus traditional sides will be used for holiday baskets where families can cook a Thanksgiving meal at home. Turkeys will also be used for the 64th annual Thanksgiving feast at Carson Nugget.
Community members are encouraged to donate a frozen turkey, plus any canned goods and dry sides such as stuffing or potatoes or they can donate $10 at the event where FISH will do the shopping for you.
It has been a difficult year for the community, but every year Carson City locals pull through in times of need. Help FISH provide a "holiday for the hungry" this Thanksgiving.
Nissan Carson City is located at 2750 S Carson St, Carson City.
