Carson City, Washoe County boards appoint Donald Tatro to Nevada State Senate 16 seat

On Wednesday, the Carson City Board of Supervisors and the Washoe County Board of Commissioners held a joint meeting to appoint a resident to the open State Senate District 16 seat.

Together the two boards chose to appoint Donald Tatro of Reno to the seat.

A commercial truck hauling a backhoe hit a number of telephone lines on South Curry near the intersection of Koontz Lane on Thursday morning, causing lines to fall to the ground and forcing a portion of South Curry Street to be closed.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance with locating a missing person. Trina McCarthy, also known as Trina Voigt, was last seen by her husband Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021 at about 2:30 p.m. when she left their Carson City home to go shopping.
