Truck hauling backhoe strikes phone lines; closes South Curry at Koontz in South Carson City
UPDATE NOV. 18: A Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy investigating the incident says that the incident involved a telephone pole and not a power pole as was originally reported on. The incident was reported initially as NV Energy power lines. We have made changes to reflect the correct information.

A commercial truck hauling a backhoe hit a number of telephone lines on South Curry near the intersection of Koontz Lane on Thursday morning, causing lines to fall to the ground and forcing a portion of South Curry Street to be closed.
The incident was reported at around 8:50 a.m. Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies have closed Curry Street at Koontz and Curry Street at Moses due to the downed lines, which first responding Fire Department personnel said, originally, were high voltage lines.
