Vehicle pursuit in Carson City ends Wednesday with one in custody

A vehicle pursuit ended with the suspect arrested early Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of College Parkway and Retail Drive in Carson City. A sheriff's deputy ended the pursuit by purposely hitting the suspect's vehicle, forcing him to crash.

Brewery Arts Center hosts impromptu concert for evacuees at Carson City Community Center

The Brewery Arts Center partnered with the local Red Cross and the Carson City Community Center to put on a small pop up concert in the Bob Boldrick Theater for those who were forced to evacuate due to the Caldor Fire.
Friends of Carson City Library donate books to Caldor Fire evacuees

With the Caldor Fire forcing the evacuation of thousands from South Lake Tahoe, Friends of the Carson City Library is providing some comfort for those taking shelter. Volunteers donated books to the shelters on Tuesday, including those at the Carson City Community Center.
Foundation awards $1M to organizations helping to rescue animals affected by Caldor Fire

The Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation announced Wednesday they have awarded $1 million to 29 organizations helping to rescue, rehabilitate and treat animals affected by the Caldor Fire. These efforts include assisting domestic animals, livestock and wildlife who have been injured and, or displaced during this event.
Caldor Fire grows to over 204,000 acres overnight, all-out assault to save Tahoe homes

The Caldor Fire advancing into the South Lake Tahoe area grew to more than 200,000 acres overnight Tuesday into Wednesday as gusty winds pushed the fire in directions that now threaten lower Carson Valley residents along the Foothill Road corridor in Douglas County, Nev., as well as the Kirkwood area in Alpine County, Calif.
