Carson City's Rice Street Tattoo is collecting items for evacuees, non-profits for distribution
Rice Street Tattoo in Carson City is collecting donations for evacuees and the non-profits that are assisting them during their time of need.
Rice Street Tattoo is located at 113 Rice Street in Carson City.
Co-owner Lezlee Robinson has been in contact with the various non-profits and shelters in the area in order to gauge what is needed from the community.
According to Robinson, these are the specific needs by non-profit, which Rice Street Tattoo will be collecting and distributing:
- FISH needs water and travel sized toiletries.
- The Nevada Humane Society in Carson City needs towels, blankets, bowls, kitty litter, and will always accept food.
Rice Street is also asking for sealed snacks and water to distribute, as well as toiletry items such as denture cream, Visine, contact solution and cases. Packs of unopened masks, adult and child size are welcome.
Robinson has also been collecting pass the time items such as cards, games, journals, and coloring books.
According to Robinson, Lifepoint Church is still taking evacuees; they have plenty of room for RVs and tents, and they are also allowing small animals.
According to an email sent by the Red Cross, evacuees are being moved today from Carson City to Reno, in order to make room for the next round of evacuees as evacuation notices continue to be announced for South Lake as the Caldor Fire advances.
Fuji Park is offering dry camping areas, and the Nevada Humane Society is on site to take in pets of evacuees, who are being cared for in the Livestock Center at Fuji Park.
