Friends of Carson City Library donate books to Caldor Fire evacuees
With the Caldor Fire forcing the evacuation of thousands from South Lake Tahoe, Friends of the Carson City Library is providing some comfort for those taking shelter. Volunteers donated books to the shelters on Tuesday, including those at the Carson City Community Center.
Volunteers also provided vouchers for evacuees to get a free book. Evacuees that come into the store and mention they are an evacuee receive a free book. Browsers Corner is the major fundraising mechanism for Friends of the Carson City Library, which donates all net proceeds to the Carson City Library. If you would like to donate books, CDs, DVDs, board games or magazines to the organization, please drop off your donations at Browsers Corner, 711 E Washington St. Visit https://www.friendscclibrary.org for information.
