Golf Tournament to return to Nevada Day Celebrations for first time in over a decade

According to Ken Hamilton, Executive Director of Nevada Day, the Golf Tournament is making a comeback this year for the first time in over a decade.

The sold-out event resulted in 140 golfers teeing off and 9 weightlifters bench pressing to raise over $10,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and over $3,000 for the Marilyn Elaine Scholarship.

Nevada COVID-19 task force flags Lyon County for having elevated risk, Humboldt now off list

Based on data provided by the Department of Health and Human Services, six of the seven counties are still meeting at least two of the three criteria, signaling a sustained elevated risk of transmission.
Carson City golf tournament update: Jim Sapien wears the Silver Oak crown

Sapien fired a 74-75 to best Dan Wilson by four strokes (77-76) during the two-day club championship Aug. 22-23. Brian Sweet (74-80) and Michael Moriarty (79-75) tied for third, while Scott Lusty was the low net (after handicap is applied) champion over the field with 141.

Genoa Lakes Ladies' Golf Club President's Cup tournament results

Thirty members competed in the two-day net tournament. Jeri Mihelic won the tournament with a net score of 142. Gail Teig was the runner-up with a score of 143 and Terri Ianiro was the 3rd place winner with a score of 147.

Nevada governor expands state shutdown to include religious gatherings, golf courses

Gov. Steve Sisolak has already limited public gatherings of 10 or more people, but as the holidays near, his latest emergency directive makes it clear places of worship should not be planning in-person services. Drive-in and pop-up services also are prohibited during the duration of the state’s emergency declaration.
