On a roll, Nevada hoops team hosts birthday bash tonight

A four-game stretch of home games to open the season concludes tonight – coach Eric Musselman’s birthday — when the Nevada men’s basketball team hosts Division I newcomer California Baptist. Part of the two-weekend Continental Tire Las Vegas Holiday Invitational, the game tips off at 7 p.m. in the Lawlor Events Center.

Carson Victory Rollers open Nevada Day derby with first win

The Carson Victory Rollers, Carson City's hometown roller derby team, opened the annual "Battle For Nevada" roller derby tournament with a win over Battle Born Derby Demons Saturday afternoon.

The win positioned CVR to play a second bout at 5 p.m. Saturday. Roller derby continues Sunday as the "Battle For Nevada" wraps up by crowning a champion.

CHS Girls Golf: Carson and Manogue share Sierra League lead

Manogue edged out Carson High School by one stroke for first place at Toiyabe on Tuesday with a team total of 352 to Carson’s 353. Damonte was third, Galena fourth, Douglas fifth, and Wooster had no team score. Karen and Jill Beglin provided an impressive one-two punch for the Senators as they posted rounds of 70 and 74.
